Audi R8 ALPHA Twin Turbo Kit

Complete your own R8 turbo build with the proven AMS quality hardware as the foundation. You customize your turbo build and tuning to your specifications and needs. We make it easy for you by providing the R8 specific turbos, intercoolers, piping, exhaust, heat exchangers, and ancillary components for you to base your own build on. Simply add your choice of engine (ECU) and transmission (TCU) tuning, boost control solution, fuel system, and engine and transmission builds (if necessary depending on your desired level of horsepower) to complete your own package.

Choose a Turbo Size That Works For You

Variety is the spice of life. We know that every R8 owner has different goals in mind for their vehicle, which is why we offer a wide selection of top-of-the-line Garrett G-Seriews turbos that support every use case from a simple show-car all the way up to a competitive drag racer. From a basic bolt-on build like in our ALPHA 9, to a fire breathing 3000 HP competitive race car like the ALPHA 28, we’ve got you covered.

  • G35-1050 — Entry level 68mm twin turbo build from 900-1200 WHP. Standard in our ALPHA 9, 10, and 12 packages.
  • G40-1150 — Stepping up to larger 71mm turbos capable of 1600 WHP. Utilized in our ALPHA 14 and ALPHA 16 builds.
  • G42-1200 — 73mm inducer found in our ALPHA 20 package. Capable of cracking the 2000+ WHP barrier.
  • G42-1450 — Our ALPHA 24 package features these 79mm turbos and easily pushes power up to the mid-2000 WHP range.
  • G45-1600 — These 80mm turbos are found in our ALPHA 28 package and are capable of 2800+ WHP and 6 second quarter mile passes.

Engineered to Win

Our SnailWorks© Engineering Team has spent hundreds of R&D hours refining the AMS V10 ALPHA Twin Turbo Kit to be the best performing, highest quality, and easiest to install kit on the market. Focusing on component and materials selection is crucial, and is why we have selected top tier components as the foundation of our system, like the Garrett intercooler cores and turbochargers, along with TiAL wastegates and blow off valves, and a high flow brushless water pump for maximum performance and reliability. Everything has been thought of, even down to the fine details like tungsten ceramic coating and line sheathing for superior heat management.

Our team has gone the extra mile to develop innovative new solutions to problems found when adding forced induction to the 5.2 FSI V10 engine found in the Audi R8. One of the things we saw during the development phase was a substantial air leak at the intake manifold flange due to the now positive air pressure within the manifold. To solve this, we developed a beautifully machined and anodized aluminum ring which fits around each intake runner gasket to provide additional sealing pressure. We chose to engineer and machine an elegant solution while competitors take the easy way out and use silicone to essentially glue the manifold pieces together.

Titanium Exhaust Upgrade

Exceptionally lightweight and extremely strong, titanium is the ultimate material for supercar exhausts. Not only is the aesthetic improved, but titanium piping offers a uniquely exotic exhaust note that is sure to turn heads. Where others are charging $10,000 or more for custom titanium exhaust options, our AMS ALPHA Twin Turbo Kit Titanium Exhaust is included as standard, at no additional cost. The AMS titanium exhaust is available in a number of different shapes and sizes, including a center exit for the 2020-2024 R8 with G40, G42 or G45 turbo kits.

Product Notes

  • Spyder models are only compatible with Spyder specific G35-1050 AMS ALPHA Twin Turbo Kits.
  • 2017-2019 R8 with G40, G42, and G45 turbo variations are only available with center exit titanium exhausts.
  • 2020-2024 R8 with G40, G42, and G45 turbo variations are only available with OEM-exit (lower rear bumper) titanium exhausts.
  • All G40, G42, and G45 turbo kit variations come with a frunk ice box included as standard.
  • Side heat exchangers are no longer included in any kit variations.
